Here is a simple parrot forager made from pod cups and random toy parts. I chose toys parts that were large enough to cover the pod opening, which included leather stars and semicircles, wooden discs and slates, and birdie bagels. For stringing, I used 1.6 mm stainless steel chain capped by an o-ring on one end and a quick link at the other.
By layering the pod cups on the chain and inserting toy parts in between each cup, the forager becomes more challenging for parrots to use. A parrot has to lift or chew away the toy parts before he/she can reach the treats in the pods.
Ta da! Here's my finished DIY parrot foraging cup. Now, I need to fill it with treats!!
